Das Orthodoxe Jahrhundert?



Bradley Nassif, Theologie-Professor und Mitglied der Orthodoxen Kirche, fragt in einem überaus spannenden Artikel in Christianity Today: Will the 21st Be the Orthodox Century?



Darin stellt er folgende Thesen auf:



I would like to (a) offer a theological explanation for why I believe more and more Christians, especially evangelicals, may well be attracted to Orthodoxy in the 21st century, and (b) explain why more and more Orthodox need to become more evangelical.
Abschließend hält er fest:



That being said, I still see signs that suggest that these two great expressions of the Christian faith, the evangelical and the Orthodox, are gradually coming together in vision, if not in worship, and that the 21st century may be known as the Orthodox century.



Interessant in diesem Zusammenhang auch der ältere CT-Artikel Why I'm Not Orthodox, den ich aber nur angelesen hab, weil ich grad keine Lust hab, ihn komplett zu lesen.

Kennt eigentlich jemand orthodoxe Blogs? Wäre doch toll, wenn man sich ein bisschen austauschen könnte.

@Francis:
Ich habe bisher nur Katholiken gesehen, die Statuen und Rosenkranzkruzifixe küssen... :-)

Aber das ist im Westen ziemlich selten und sehr individuell. Bei den Orthodoxen (und den byzantinischen Katholiken) ist es aber eine grundlegende und sehr häufige Frömmigkeitsform. In der ukrainisch-katholischen Messe hier in Wien küssten die Leute alle eine Ikone (also außer mir), bevor sie zur Kommunion gingen...

aus italien, spanien und lateinamerika kennt man das mit dem küssen ja auch verstärkt, aber in deutschland hab ich das bisher auch nur sehr selten erlebt. meine katholischen großeltern bspw. küssen nie irgendwas (außer sich gegenseitig natürlich :-)).
